3 ways we celebrate Advent at DMAC

Download prayers for celebrating with an Advent Wreath in contemporary language at home based on this traditional devotional guide.

Advent is a time of new beginnings for Christians. It is the start of a new liturgical year, and an opportunity to enter into the story of Scripture as we anticipate together the celebration of Christ’s birth on Christmas Day, and our ultimate joy at his future Second Coming.  We set this time apart as special in our church in a few ways:

Especially family-friendly services

We believe the family that worships together grows closer to one another and to God, so children are always welcome at DMAC! During the seasons of Advent and Christmas, our sermons are shorter and more easily accessible for kids, so they stay in the sanctuary for the entire service. A small coloring activity will also be provided so our young ones can follow along and engage in an age-appropriate way.  Nursery remains available for children 4 and under.

Each Sunday we participate in treasured traditions together, like the lighting of the Advent wreath and special songs tailored for the season.

New to DMAC? We can’t wait to meet you! Here’s what to expect.

Rest and refreshment with one another

After service, we take time to enjoy each other’s company over snacks and fresh coffee. This is an intentional time together for encouraging conversion and building deeper relationships. Nursery remains available.

Sharing joy with our neighbors

All are welcome at our annual Christmas Caroling event. Gather in Wesley Parish Hall on Sunday, December 16 a t 4:30 pm for hot wassail and a quick run-through of the songs before heading out into the neighborhood together.
